Network Management in the Palm of Your Hand
Have you ever been in a situation where you have received a notification on your mobile device or PDA about a failure on your network and don't have access to a computer to see what is going on?
Since the inception of network management and monitoring software, the interaction has been largely one sided as alerts and notifications are normally pushed to portable devices. This one-sided interaction dictates that network managers still need a computer to access their network management solutions to gain insight into the cause of an alert or understand status of systems.
Be more responsive from anywhere, at any time.
It is no longer sufficient getting notifications to pagers or SMS messages/email on smartphones or mobile devices when infrastructure issues occur. Now you have the ability to react to events immediately after receiving an alert or notification of a problem with WhatsUp Gold Mobile Access.
With WhatsUp Gold, you can create a Workspace to address multiple situations:

Device and Browser Support
WhatsUp Gold mobile access provides support for the following devices and browsers.
- Mobile Safari 2.2
- IE Mobile 6.1
- Opera Mini 4.2
All connections between a supported mobile device and WhatsUp Gold mobile access can be SSL encrypted.
SMS or email notifications sent as a result of alarms only provide information that a problem has occurred. Network managers still need to find a computer with network connectivity to access the management and monitoring solution to find out the specifics of a problem. With WhatsUp Gold, SMS/email notifications can be configured to add a hyperlink to the device related to the problem in the SMS message or email to mobile devices. This provides the network manager with immediate access and visibility into the issue though the mobile device.
With device views, Mobile users can access network device maps and select specific devices and then drill-down to review monitoring status and reports for the selected device. Mobile access users can also bring devices in and out of maintenance mode through device views. Device maps can be resized to adjust to the screen type of the mobile device and to zoom-in on a particular device.
Mobile access to key reports gives networks managers the ability to monitor the overall health and status of their network from any of the supported mobile browsers. 35 reports covering an extensive range of information assures that important information is available at any time.
Additional information, such as note or attributes can be added to and viewed on a device status report. Notes or information can include for example; phone numbers, email address, contact information or addresses as clickable links that can be accessed from mobile devices that support these capabilities. Mobile access users can also designate any number of the provided reports as favorite reports.
Flow Monitor Reports
In addition to WhatsUp Gold reporting and device status, mobile access also provides access to 19 Flow Monitor reports to view status of Flow information collected by the WhatsUp Gold Flow Monitor (requires Flow Monitor plug-in.)
